Parental considerations and decision-making in the area of postponement of school attendance

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of postponement of school attendance from the perspective of parents. The thesis is divided into three parts - theoretical, methodological and analytical. The theoretical part defines the kindergarten as the first facility that the child and his parents meet. It shows additional activities - speech therapy care, stimulation program, psychological and pedagogical diagnostics. It defines terms such as school readiness, school maturity and delay in school attendance. The last chapter frames the kindergarten from the point of view of the overall system of education in the Czech Republic. In the methodological part, the goal of the research, the research questions are presented. How the data will be interpreted. To obtain them, a semi-structured interview was used with eight parents who either decided to delay school attendance or their child properly entered the first grade. Diagnostic of school maturity of children with impaired communication ability

This thesis deals with the issue of school readiness of children with speech difficulties in the preschool period. The theoretical part of the thesis describes in detail the areas of preschool child development, as well as communication of the preschool child, school maturity and readiness, and diagnosis of school maturity and readiness. In the practical part of the thesis, qualitative research is conducted using a diagnostic method to assess school maturity in children with impaired communication skills who are awaiting entry into primary school. Subsequently, individual speech and language therapy interventions are designed for those children who, based on the results of the assessment, are ready to enter primary school. The aim of the work is to contribute to a better understanding of the issue of school readiness of children with impaired communication skills and to provide practical tools to support the communication skills of these children in preparation for entry into primary school. The design of the speech therapy intervention serves as a complement to home practice before starting primary school. Development of Psycho-motor Skills in Juveniles and School Maturity

This bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of psychomotor development in middle and late childhood, school maturity, its aspects and methods of testing. A total of five aims are set and six hypotheses are assigned to them. Two aims determine how much experience, training and home preparation influence the results of school maturity tests, which are based on the evaluation of individual aspects of psychomotor development. Furthermore, the aim is to find out whether psychomotor development occurs uniformly in all its areas and whether the factor of body height is related to the level of development. The last two goals are tied directly to the tested group, which consists of children aged 6-8 years living in the district of Rychnov nad Kněžnou. It is determined whether these children are mature enough to enter the 1st grades of primary school and whether there is any connection between the parents' decision to postpone their children's entry into primary school and their results in school maturity tests. The diploma thesis deals with the issue of school maturity, the communication level of preschool children and the postponement of school attendance from the point of view of speech therapy and school counseling facilities. The theoretical part contains three chapters devoted to topics necessary for defining the qualification work. The content of the first chapter is an introduction to the theoretical framework of communication and child development from birth to preschool age with a primary focus on speech development. The second chapter defines impaired communication ability from the general basis to the specifics of communication of children in preschool and younger school age. The third chapter analyzes the support of preschool children's communication skills, the area of school readiness with the examination of school maturity in a pedagogical-psychological counseling center and postponement of school attendance. Communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade

The thesis deals with the topic of communication disorders in relation to school maturity and the child's preparation for first grade. The theoretical part is devoted to the theoretical definition of the issue of school maturity and readiness, with an emphasis on communication skills and the impact of impaired communication skills on first grade education. It also focuses on the possibilities of developing a child's communication skills before entering first grade. One of the chapters focuses on Elkonin's stimulating language skills training program. The practical part of the thesis is conducted by qualitative method of investigation through semi-structured interviews with a clinical speech therapist, a special educator - speech therapist and a speech therapy assistant. The practical part explores the developmental opportunities for the child with impaired communication skills and the benefits of the Elkonin programme for training language skills for impaired communication skills in preparation for the start of compulsory schooling. Cooperation of kindergarten and elementary school in the preparation of preschool children for starting elementary school.

The topic of the work is Cooperation of kindergarten and primary school in the preparation of pre-school children for primary school. The task of this pre-school education is to provide qualitative foundations for further education and to prepare the child for successful admission to primary school. Cooperation between the two educational establishments is necessary for the child to have a smooth transition from kindergarten to primary school. The bachelor thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part engages with the meaning of preschool education, with the personality of the preschool educator, the upbringing and education of the child before entering the primary school, family and its cooperation with the kindergarten, the childs adaptation from the kindergarten into the primary school, development of the preschool child and the question of school maturity. As next the childs needs in grade one, the role of a pupil, emotional difficulties of the young pupil and teacher in grade one of the primary school. The practical part is focused on mapping the cooperation of kindergartens, primary and small-town schools in the Pilsen region. For this inquiry a quality research was used. This research was carried out with the help of a half-structured conversation. The participants were teachers from kindergartens and primary schools of the Pilsen Region.
THE DEVELOPMENT OF GRAPHOMOTORIC SKILLS OF CHILDREN IN PRE-SCHOOL AGE AND CHILDREN IN THE FIRST GRADE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The topic of this bachelor´s thesis is development of graphomotor skills of pre-school age and early school age children. The aim is creation of supportive programme for the development of the graphomotor skills and its verification in practice. The theoretical part is devoted to the systems influencing the motor skills development. This part of thesis describes also the entire area of motor skills and other relating topics such as working habits for drawing and writing, laterality, pre-school age and early school age. The practical part deals with creation and realization of supportive programme for chosen group of children. It is focused on the development of graphomotor skills by a comprehensive way. The evaluation of the gained data and the analysis of the results are also a component of the practical part of the thesis.
School maturity of boys and girl in kindergarten

The bachelor thesis focuses on the level of school maturity of girls and boys and their readiness to enter the primary school from the point of view of a kindergarten teacher. It aimed to conduct diagnostics on selected children and monitor the results concerning their gender. This thesis is devided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with preschool children's development and the criteria according to which school maturity is assessed. Methods of structured observation and analysis of diagnostic tests were used in the practical part to collect data. The examined sample of children was divided into two groups according to gender. The school maturity tests which were analysed in this work are described and evaluated individually.
